Ms. Riley has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1997. She joined A.J. Barranco & Associates, P.A. in 2008 and specializes in complex litigation and matters involving dissolution of marriage of high net worth individuals.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Riley was employed as an Assistant Public Defender and Felony Division Training Attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office for 11 years. During her tenure, Ms. Riley tried over 100 cases as lead counsel and had the added responsibility of supervising felony attorneys in every division of the criminal courts.
In 2000, Ms. Riley obtained her LL.M. Master of Laws degree in Health Law from Loyola University of Chicago. Upon completion of her degree, she was invited to join the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of Counsel to the Inspector General in Washington, D.C. While there, Ms. Riley was employed as an Assistant Inspector General with responsibility for the representation of the United States Government in the administrative prosecution of cases involving fraud and abuse of the U.S. Federally funded health care programs. She also investigated and prosecuted matters involving violations of the Federal False Claim Act and the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA).
Ms. Riley was the former Vice-Chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and is licensed to practice before the Florida Bar as well as the Federal Bar of the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida
